Composite bonding is one of the quickest ways to fix chipped, uneven or slightly gappy front teeth, and one of the first things people check is the price. It’s also one of the hardest prices to compare, because clinics quote per tooth, per “smile”, with or without whitening, and with very different materials and skill levels behind the same name.
This guide sets out what composite bonding costs in the UK in 2026, what a full smile usually costs, what pushes the price up, the ongoing costs people forget, and how UK prices compare with Turkey and Albania. We’re Zeus Dental Clinic in Tirana, Albania, so we’ll also be straight about when travelling for bonding makes sense and when it doesn’t.
Composite Bonding Cost UK: The Short Answer
- Per tooth: commonly £150–£400 at UK private practices, with London often 20–40% higher.
- Full smile (6–10 teeth): commonly about £900–£4,000 outside London, and more in London.
- NHS: cosmetic bonding isn’t available. Bonding to repair a broken tooth for clinical reasons can be part of Band 2 (£76.60 in England).
- Lifespan: typically around 5–7 years before significant repair or replacement, with polishing and small repairs along the way.
- Turkey: clinics there commonly advertise roughly £60–£200 per tooth.

Edge bonding vs full-coverage bonding
Composite edge bonding adds resin only to the biting edges of the teeth, to even out chips or worn edges. It usually uses less material and time than full-coverage bonding (sometimes called composite veneers), where resin covers the whole front surface. Many clinics still price both per tooth, so ask exactly which you’re being quoted for.
What Affects the Cost of Composite Bonding?
- Number of teeth. A balanced smile usually involves the teeth visible when you smile, often 6 to 10 upper teeth. Some patients only need two or four.
- How much change you want. Closing gaps or changing shape takes more resin and time than repairing an edge.
- The dentist’s skill. Bonding is done freehand, so the result depends heavily on the dentist’s artistry. This is the biggest reason prices vary.
- Materials. Better composites polish to a higher shine and resist staining longer.
- Preparatory treatment. Gum disease or decay must be treated first.
- Whitening. Composite doesn’t whiten, so if you want whiter teeth, whitening is done before bonding so the shade can be matched.
- Location. London and other city-centre clinics usually charge more.

The Costs People Forget: Lifetime Cost of Bonding
Bonding is cheaper than porcelain veneers up front, but it needs more upkeep. When comparing quotes, think about the cost over 10 years, not just on day one:
- Polishing: regular polishing at hygiene visits keeps the shine and reduces staining.
- Repairs: small chips can usually be repaired chairside, commonly £30–£100 in the UK.
- Replacement: bonding typically needs significant refreshing or replacing after around 5–7 years, depending on your habits.
- Staining: coffee, tea, red wine and smoking stain composite faster than porcelain.
If you want a longer-lasting result and don’t mind some tooth preparation, compare with porcelain options in our guide to E.max veneers and our comparison of composite bonding vs veneers.
Can You Get Composite Bonding on the NHS?
Not for cosmetic reasons. The NHS only covers treatment that’s clinically necessary. If a tooth is chipped or broken and needs restoring, your dentist may repair it with composite as part of a Band 2 course of treatment (£76.60 in England from 1 April 2026). Reshaping or lengthening healthy teeth to improve your smile is private treatment.

Composite Bonding Cost: UK vs Turkey vs Albania
Many UK patients look at Turkey first, where clinics commonly advertise composite bonding at roughly £60–£200 per tooth. Albania is another option, around three hours from several UK airports. Prices abroad are lower mainly because clinic running costs are lower, not because the treatment is different.
Before comparing prices, check these points, wherever you go:
- Is it really bonding? Some “smile makeover” packages abroad end up as crowns or heavily prepared veneers. Bonding should need little or no drilling of healthy teeth. If a plan involves filing teeth down, ask why.
- How many teeth, and why? A good dentist recommends the number of teeth that suits your smile, not the biggest package.
- What’s included? Consultation, whitening, polishing, and a check before you fly home.
- What happens if it chips? Bonding is repairable, but you need to know whether you’d repair it in the UK or come back.
Is it worth travelling for composite bonding?
Be realistic. For one or two teeth, the saving rarely covers flights and a hotel; have it done locally. For a full smile of 6 to 10 teeth, the difference can be significant. Bonding also suits a single trip well: it’s usually completed over one or two appointments without a laboratory, so you don’t need to come back for a second stage. Our guide on how long composite bonding takes explains the timing.

Questions to Ask Before You Book
- Is the price per tooth, and does it include whitening and polishing?
- Is this edge bonding or full-coverage bonding?
- Will any healthy tooth structure be removed?
- Can I see before-and-after photos of your own bonding cases?
- How long should it last, and what does a repair cost?
- Am I a good candidate, or would another option suit me better?
If you grind your teeth or have a heavy bite, bonding may chip more easily. Our guide to the pros and cons of composite bonding covers who it suits best.
Our honest advice: the cheapest quote per tooth isn’t always the cheapest smile. A natural-looking result with fewer teeth treated, done well, usually costs less over time than a large package that needs frequent repairs.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much is composite bonding per tooth in the UK?
Commonly £150–£400 per tooth at private practices, with London clinics often 20–40% higher.
How much does a full set of composite bonding cost?
For 6 to 10 teeth, commonly around £900–£4,000 outside London, and up to about £5,000 in London, before any whitening or preparatory treatment.
How much is composite bonding in Turkey?
Turkish clinics commonly advertise roughly £60–£200 per tooth. Check that the treatment is genuine bonding, not crowns or heavily prepared veneers, and ask what’s included.
Is composite bonding available on the NHS?
Not for cosmetic reasons. Composite can be used to repair a broken tooth when it’s clinically necessary, as part of NHS Band 2 treatment.
How long does composite bonding last?
Typically around 5–7 years before significant repair or replacement, depending on your habits, oral hygiene and how often it’s polished.
Is bonding cheaper than veneers?
Yes, up front. Porcelain veneers commonly cost more per tooth but last longer and resist staining better. Over 10 years, the gap narrows because bonding needs more maintenance.
